Jimmies Ice Cream Cafe, founded in 2009, by Roslindale resident Donna Cabral, has become one of the many food destinations in Roslindale— a Boston neighborhood eight miles southwest of downtown Boston. Roslindale is one of Boston’s hidden gems and is a restaurant and foodie destination. You may know Donna as a well known photographer and past owner of Photo Image Plus, which operated in Roslindale Village for 18 years.

For Jimmies Ice Cream Cafe, Donna states “I wanted a beach-themed, retro style cafe that would serve everyone in the community. I especially wanted children to experience an old fashion ice cream store. I had hopes that the kids would feel like it’s their place, and I think we have succeeded”. Jimmies interior was recently renovated after a year in business and now has new tables, colorful chairs, chalkboards throughout, new lighting, and new counters. Donna is especially grateful to her business partner, Jeanne Hagan, who had a vision and tenacity to complete the renovations 2010. Jeanne, an exceptional cook, has helped shaped Jimmies Ice Cream Cafe to be a better place to serve our customers. Jimmies Ice Cream Cafe employ 2 dedicated part time students who are from the community. 

 Jimmies Ice Cream Cafe offers delicious panini sandwiches, fresh lobster rolls (made to order), grilled hot dogs, along with an extensive ice cream menu. Delivering freshly made ice cream to Jimmies twice a week, Richardson’s Ice Cream, a family owned farm that raises their own cows is located on the North Shore of Boston. We carry 30 flavors of ice cream as well as frozen yogurt, no-sugar added ice cream, sorbet and sherbet. We delight our customers with flavors such as green monster, coconut almond chip, death by chocolate, totally turtle, and kahlua fudge brownie. Our popular frozen yogurt will satisfy your taste buds with mint patty, purple cow, chocolate chip, and of course coffee Heath bar crunch. 

 New this year, we introduced our homemade ice cream cakes—perfect for birthday parties and anniversary celebrations. Customers pick their own flavors and we offer a cookie crunch and a light frosting. Also, we have created an exhibit wall for local artists to display their creative work.
